Verizon’s exclusive Motorola DROID Maxx, DROID Mini and DROID Ultra smartphones are ready to get Android 4.4.4 KitKat update soon.
According to a new report from Android Central, Motorola is currently soak testing the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for these three devices. The test firmware is being seeded already by the registered Motorola testers on its Feedback Network.
In other words, Motorola has decided to skip the Android 4.4.3 bug fix update and go straight for the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat build. This software version will bring prominent improvements, including a neat set of bug fixes and enhancements. Here is the official change log for the Motorola DROID Maxx:
  • Improved camera performance.
  • Contactless payments with ISIS Wallet support.
  • Enhanced Visual Voicemail.

We are hoping that the change log for the DROID Ultra and DROID Mini should be similar to the DROID Maxx’s. This latest update also includes all of the goodies of Android 4.4.3—such a new dialer, the ability to pause during video recording, and enhanced security for OpenSSL.
The test build update is now available over-the-air and it is about 285MB big. If you own a Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra, or Droid Mini, make sure to drop by our comment section below as soon as you get the update and let us know how it fares.
